KONZEPTION

PURPOSE OF THE FOUNDATION

The purpose of the foundation is realized in particular through

• Financial, social and health support for children and young people and their families
• intellectual and human development of children and young people
• Supporting schools and childcare facilities in terms of ideas, personnel or finances
• Promotion of youth welfare
• Promoting the prevention of violence against children
• general educational work on the situation of children in society

FUNDING PRINCIPLES

The ProKids Foundation sees itself as both an operational foundation that pursues its goals with its own programs and as a sponsoring foundation that enables third parties to develop and implement interesting approaches - projects and initiatives - to tackle social tasks at home and abroad. With our own programs or projects that we support, we want to initiate developments and bring about change. Depending on the topic and the associated strategic direction, we decide whether we implement the program "operationally", i.e. as our own project and/or look for partners who can help us supplement the program with their expertise and experience.

ORIGIN

Shortly after the start of the new millennium, child poverty in Germany reached a historic new dimension. The consequences for those affected are not only financial, but also health-related. One in three children requires therapy when they start school. There is also the social dimension: poverty always means discrimination. Such grievances have a particularly strong impact on everyday school life: needy parents are often unable to pay for a hot school meal for their children. This is where businessman Joachim Spitz started in 2008. He founded the local initiative ProKids-VS in his hometown of Villingen-Schwenningen and began to actively support needy children.

STRUCTURES

The ProKids Foundation is a nationwide foundation. Its main focus is on supporting local and regional ProKids initiatives.

BRANCHES / INITIATIVES

Foundation branches can be established, e.g. as previously with Prokids-VS, as an initiative of Spitzdruck in Villingen-Schwenningen, Prokids-TUT, Prokids-RW, etc. 80% of the money collected or received by regional foundation branches is distributed directly, in consultation with the regional initiatives, but only directly in the region of this initiative, and 20% goes into the foundation fund for long-term and later distribution. The foundation board decides on the distribution of donations with a national donation target. Branches must be approved by the Prokids Foundation.
