ProKids MEETING
Games, Fun & Homework Support for Kids
The ProKids meeting was born out of the basic idea of giving young families in Villingen-Schwenningen a place where they can exchange ideas. Children and parents meet here in an informal atmosphere over coffee, tea and cake. There are games and crafts for children of all ages.
The facility in the Schwenningen youth center was initiated by the married couple Ulrike and Dr. Karl-Henning Lichte and taken over by the ProKids Foundation as sponsor in spring 2012.
The volunteers and employed educational staff at the ProKids-Treff help families in a variety of ways, for example by arranging children's clothing (used and new), toys, with low-threshold advice and help in emergencies. Children can also be helped with their homework if they wish. Many families are grateful for the support provided in contact with authorities, for help in emergencies and for the offer of discussion groups on medical and educational topics, among other things. The ProKids-Treff also organizes large events, seasonal projects and a holiday program. Here, children from families who would otherwise not be able to afford it are also given the opportunity to take part in attractive activities that represent very special experiences for the little ones.
All of this is offered to visitors to the meeting point free of charge. The social-educational family support provided by ProKids is intended to support parents and single parents with very practical help in mastering everyday life.
